Welcome to AIPS

The American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS), established in 1973, is a bi-national research and education organization with a mission to promote academic study of Pakistan in the US and to encourage scholarly exchange between the US and Pakistan.

It is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, autonomous organization and a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.

AIIS Book to Dissertation Workshop

The American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) has announced their annual AIIS Dissertation to Book Workshop! AIPS is a co-sponsor of this program, held at the Annual Conference on South Asia in Madison, WI (October 20-21, 2021). Applications are due by July 31st! AIPS Vice Presidential Election Results

AIPS is excited to share that Dr. Iqbal Singh Sevea of the University of Carolina at Chapel Hill has been elected the next AIPS Vice President! Dr. Sevea is currently an Associate Professor of History at UNC and has served as its institutional trustee to AIPS since 2013. His research focuses on modern Islam and modern South Asia.
